About This Project

Introduction to the Metaproblem

Choose Peace. Live Peace. End War. is a global, Indigenous-led campaign convened by Phil Lane Jr. and Four Worlds International Institute.

Humanity is caught in a repeating cycle of conflict—expressed through war, systemic violence, division, and disconnection from one another and the Earth.
War is not only fought between nations. It shows up in our institutions, communities, and daily interactions.

The deeper issue is a shared belief that conflict is inevitable and peace is passive.
This campaign reframes peace as an active, shared responsibility—a system that can be lived, practiced, and scaled globally.

Through the Compassion Games framework, peace becomes measurable, collective action across bioregions worldwide.

Core Problem in the Bioregion

In every bioregion, conflict manifests in tangible and systemic ways:

  • Social polarization and breakdown of trust
  • Unresolved historical and cultural trauma
  • Disconnection from Indigenous wisdom and place-based identity
  • Systems that reinforce competition over collaboration

These dynamics weaken communities, harm ecosystems, and limit our collective ability to respond to global challenges.

Without intervention, these patterns continue to fragment societies and block pathways toward regeneration and peace.

Proposed Solution

This campaign offers a practical, actionable pathway to activate peace as a living system:

  • Listen & Learn: Center Indigenous wisdom and peace traditions
  • Declare & Commit: Invite individuals and institutions to endorse peace
  • Practice Peace: Apply conflict resolution and reconciliation in daily life
  • Activate the Field: Create collective, visible expressions of peace
  • Amplify & Invite: Share stories and expand global participation

All actions are tracked through the Compassion Games, making peace visible, measurable, and scalable.

This transforms peace from an idea into a coordinated global practice.

What Makes It Unique

  • Indigenous-led & wisdom-guided: Rooted in timeless teachings and lived experience
  • From idea to action: Focused on daily practice and measurable impact
  • Bioregional + global: Locally grounded, yet globally connected
  • Team-of-teams model: Aligns diverse actors toward a shared collective win
  • Treaty + practice: Combines systemic change (Binding Peace Treaty) with personal and community action

This is not a campaign about awareness.
It is a campaign about activation.
