About

Four Worlds is an Indigenous-led, nonprofit international organization, founded in 1982 by Chief Phil Lane Jr. and forty Indigenous Elders.

Four Worlds was established to address the deep social, cultural, and ecological challenges facing Indigenous communities and humanity as a whole. Guided by Indigenous spiritual and natural law, the Institute introduced The Fourth Way—a path beyond assimilation, resignation, and resistance—focused instead on healing, empowerment, and constructive development.
Over the past four decades, Four Worlds has supported community transformation efforts around the world, helping restore cultural identity, strengthen local leadership, and build sustainable, self-determined futures.
Today, this work is expanding globally through a set of interconnected initiatives, including:

  • The Digital Fourth Way, a decentralized platform for cultural, economic, and governance sovereignty
  • The Union of the Condor, Hummingbird, Quetzal, and Eagle, uniting Indigenous peoples and allies across the Americas
  • The Binding Planetary Peace Treaty to End War, advancing a global movement for peace
  • The International Treaty to Protect and Restore Mother Earth, supporting ecological stewardship and regenerative systems
  • A growing bioregional movement, aligning human systems with the natural world

Together, these efforts form an integrated response to the root causes of global imbalance—restoring relationships among people, cultures, and the Earth.
