Help Us Grow a Million Trees: Empower Jaipur's Communities & Restore Vital Ecosystems (Coming Soon)

1 Million Trees for Jaipur: Rewilding Land, Restoring Water, and Reviving Community

About This Project

🧭 Introduction to the Metaproblem

Across the globe, ecosystems are collapsing under the weight of deforestation, urban sprawl, and climate disruption. As natural landscapes disappear, biodiversity vanishes, water sources dry up, and communities lose their ancestral connection to land. The call for large-scale, people-powered reforestation is more urgent than ever.

🌍 Core Problem in the Bioregion

In peri-urban Jaipur, Rajasthan, rapid urbanization, overgrazing, and deforestation are turning once-lush landscapes into barren zones. Local communities face dwindling water supplies, dying pasturelands, and harsher microclimates. Without immediate intervention, these vital ecosystems—and the lives they sustain—will continue to degrade beyond repair.

💡 Proposed Solution

The Dhun Forestry Project is a bold, community-powered mission to plant 1 million native trees across the vulnerable lands of Jaipur. Through Dhun’s interactive and gamified model, donors worldwide become cocreators, directly supporting local villagers in growing living forests.

Key components include:

  • Strategic Plantation Sites: Roadside corridors, pasturelands, private fields, and degraded areas
  • Water Security Infrastructure: Swales, ponds, bunds, and ancient wells restore moisture to the land
  • Native Tree Selection: Curated by ecologists to ensure biodiversity and high survival rates
  • Community Collaboration: Donors connect with on-the-ground stewards for full transparency

This is more than tree planting—it’s ecosystem regeneration rooted in trust, knowledge, and care.

🌱 What Makes it Unique

A Million Trees, One Vision – An ambitious, scalable plan to rewild Rajasthan and reverse environmental decline
Local Stewardship – Villagers lead the implementation and care, building ownership and sustainability
Gamified Giving – Donors become cocreators in a transparent, immersive impact experience
Ecological Design – Trees are tall (6–10 ft), over 2 years old, and water systems collect 400+ million liters annually
Biodiversity & Resilience – Rewilding restores native ecosystems and protects against climate shocks

This is a living forest powered by people—growing from the roots up.
