About This Project

Reconnecting Humanity to Ancestral Wisdom and the Living Earth

Introduction to the Metaproblem

We are living through a time of accelerating ecological collapse.

  • Biodiversity is declining at unprecedented rates
  • Ecosystems are degrading
  • Traditional knowledge systems are disappearing

One of the most important truths is often overlooked:

Indigenous communities - representing less than 5% of the global population - protect around 80% of the world’s remaining biodiversity.

The survival of our planet is deeply connected to the preservation of ancestral knowledge and Indigenous stewardship, yet these communities remain among the least supported and most underfunded.

Core Problem in the Bioregion (Brunca Region, Costa Rica)

Costa Rica is globally recognized for its environmental leadership, yet Indigenous communities represent only around 1% of the population and continue to face:

  • Limited access to funding and infrastructure
  • Loss of ancestral knowledge across generations
  • Cultural erosion due to external pressures
  • Lack of platforms to share their wisdom globally

In the Brunca bioregion, where the Boruca people are rooted:

  • Sacred sites and traditions are at risk of being forgotten
  • Younger generations are losing connection to ancestral practices
  • There are few sustainable models that allow Indigenous leaders to teach, host, and sustain their work

At the same time, global demand for connection, meaning, and nature-based wisdom is rising.

The gap is not interest — the gap is connection, infrastructure, and support.

The Solution: A Living School of Ancestral Wisdom

At the center of this project is Abuela Ana, a Boruca Wisdom Keeper, developing a living school on sacred land near the ancestral sphere sites in the Osa Peninsula.

This space bridges:

  • Indigenous communities
  • Local Costa Rican culture
  • International visitors and learners

What This Enables

  • Preservation of ancestral knowledge through lived experience
  • Education for children, families, and global participants
  • Cultural exchange between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities
  • Regenerative tourism and local economic resilience

What Makes This Project Unique

This is not a theoretical initiative. It is:

  • Led by an Indigenous Wisdom Keeper with lived ancestral knowledge
  • Located on sacred land connected to ancient Boruca spheres
  • A living, experiential school — not an abstract program
  • A bridge between worlds: Indigenous, local, and global

Rather than extracting knowledge, this project is rooted in reciprocity, respect, and cultural preservation.

Why Your Support Matters

This is an opportunity to be part of something truly meaningful and tangible. Your support does not disappear into an abstract system - it directly helps preserve living knowledge, protect sacred land, and empower an indigenous-led initiative that is actively shaping a more balanced future. By contributing, you are not only funding infrastructure, but enabling a space where people from around the world can reconnect with nature, learn from ancestral wisdom, and carry these insights back into their own communities. This is your chance to support a project where your impact is visible, personal, and part of a much larger shift toward a more conscious and regenerative world.

Supporting this project is not just a donation. It is a contribution to:

  • Protecting biodiversity through Indigenous stewardship
  • Preserving knowledge that cannot be recreated once lost
  • Empowering Indigenous leadership and cultural continuity
  • Creating spaces for healing, learning, and reconnection

Every contribution helps ensure that this wisdom continues to live, evolve, and be shared with future generations.
