Despite Costa Rica’s global reputation for wellness and its iconic pura vida lifestyle, health disparities in Talamanca remain stark. Around 70–90% of Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and migrant families in the region live below the poverty line, compared to just 20% nationwide. Aside from discrimination, geographic isolation and systemic barriers to care contribute to these inequities.
Salud Para Todos Caribe is a grassroots nonprofit organization based on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica, Talamanca. We honor individual healthcare choices, prioritize local leadership, and value traditional healing alongside allopathic and natural therapies to underprivileged communities that need it most.
