"Digital Peacekeepers vs Misinformation: From Conflict to Connection" is an innovative initiative designed to combat the spread of extremist narratives on social media. Using cutting-edge psychological science and conflict resolution strategies, this project tackles the root causes of radicalization and fosters online spaces centered on understanding and unity. By addressing online extremism at its source, this initiative seeks to create a safer, more cohesive digital environment for all.

With a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, sociologists, and conflict resolution experts from countries like Germany, Canada, Israel, and Palestine, this project combines scientific precision with real-world experience in high-conflict areas.
Social media has transformed into a battlefield for extremist ideologies, where divisive narratives exploit political crises and global uncertainties to stoke fear and anger. Civil society's vision of unity, transparency, and shared humanity is under constant attack by nationalist and radical movements, which frame global unification as a threat to cultural identity or sovereignty.
Our project steps into this gap, directly supporting civil society by using social media as a force for peace. By countering extremist narratives with messages of unity, dialogue, and mutual respect, we can rebuild trust and foster a sense of shared purpose in an increasingly polarized world.
Platforms like Twitter/X host an estimated 150-750 million monthly posts that spread divisive rhetoric, including anti-global civil society sentiments (Source: 33rd Square, Civicus Monitor, Twitter Audit Blog). These posts create an environment of hostility, increasing societal polarization and undermining unity.
Traditional intervention methods, often violent or state-driven, can escalate tensions rather than resolve them. This project provides a nonviolent, accessible alternative, leveraging scientific insights and digital tools to disrupt divisive content and reduce the influence of extremist rhetoric.
Our project aims to:
