Water 4 Life

Water4Life Global (often referred to as Water for Life Guatemala) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to clean drinking water while protecting vital freshwater ecosystems in Guatemala.

Founded in 2019, Water4Life Global works primarily in the Lake Atitlán region, partnering with Indigenous communities to implement sustainable, community-led water solutions. Their approach centers on dignity, education, and long-term resilience — ensuring families are not only supported with clean water infrastructure, but also empowered to care for their health and environment.

Water4Life Global combines household water filtration, community education, and ecosystem protection to address both the immediate health impacts of contaminated water and the underlying environmental challenges affecting the watershed. Their work is carried out in close collaboration with local leaders, with a strong focus on women-led community engagement.

In addition to providing clean drinking water, the organization supports complementary initiatives such as greywater management, reforestation, shoreline cleanups, and environmental education — all aimed at protecting Lake Atitlán and the communities that depend on it.
